United Voices for America condemned the killing of approximately 30 Palestinians — including women and children — in Israeli airstrikes in Gaza, calling the attack further evidence that the declared ceasefire has failed to protect civilians.
According to reporting by the Associated Press, the casualties included two women and six children from two different families. Separate live coverage has documented that more than 500 Palestinians have reportedly been killed during the ongoing truce. See reporting here: Al Jazeera update.
United Voices said a ceasefire that fails to halt the killing of civilians — particularly children — cannot be treated as meaningful progress.
“When families are buried under rubble during what is supposed to be a pause in fighting, policymakers must confront the reality that the current framework is not protecting human life,” the organization said.
The organization called for immediate, permanent de-escalation, unrestricted humanitarian access to Gaza, and independent investigations into attacks that result in civilian deaths.
