A civil rights attorney plans to sue a school district in Bergen County after a teacher allegedly referred to an Arab American Muslim student as a “terrorist” during a conversation about homework. The teacher was suspended with pay from Ridgefield Memorial High School after the Oct. 20 incident, according to Aymen Aboushi of New York City, the attorney for student Mohammed Zubi and his family. Zubi, a senior, claims he asked the teacher if he could finish an assignment at home. The teacher allegedly responded, “We don’t negotiate with terrorists,” Aboushi said. CONTINUE READING
