United Voices for America condemned Rep. Randy Fine after he used social media to dehumanize Muslims, calling the latest remarks part of a documented pattern of anti-Muslim incitement that Congress has allowed to go unanswered.
In reporting highlighted by Newsweek, Fine wrote on X: “If they force us to choose, the choice between dogs and Muslims is not a difficult one.” California Governor Gavin Newsom responded publicly, calling on Fine to resign.
United Voices said Congress cannot normalize rhetoric that treats Muslims as less than human. “This is not an isolated ‘gaffe.’ It is a form of political messaging that encourages harassment, threats, and violence against Muslim communities,” the organization said.
United Voices urged House leadership to condemn Fine’s remarks and take concrete action to enforce basic standards of conduct for members of Congress. The organization also called on lawmakers from both parties to reject anti-Muslim dehumanization as a political strategy and to stop rewarding it with silence.
