United Voices, an organization dedicated to amplifying the voices for marginalized communities, strongly denounces the recent remarks made by President Joe Biden during a press conference, characterizing them as “deeply troubling and demeaning.” The organization calls on the President to issue a public apology and unequivocally condemn the Israeli government’s ongoing targeting of Palestinian civilians.

During the press conference at the White House, President Biden expressed doubts about the reported number of civilian casualties resulting from the Israeli government’s assault on Gaza, stating, “I’m sure innocents have been killed, and it is the price of waging war.” He continued by stating, “I have no confidence in the number [of civilian casualties] that the Palestinians are using.”

United Voices finds President Biden’s remarks deeply troubling and unacceptable, especially given the overwhelming evidence of civilian casualties and the Israeli government’s admission to targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure. The organization emphasizes the need for impartiality and empathy in addressing the loss of over 6,500 Palestinian lives over the past two weeks.

In a statement, United Voices said:

“We are deeply troubled and shocked by the demeaning comments that President Biden made about the over 6,500 Palestinians slaughtered by the Israeli government over the past two weeks.

“The Israeli government has openly admitted that it is targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure. Journalists have confirmed the high number of casualties, and countless videos coming out of Gaza every day show mangled bodies of Palestinian women and children – and entire city blocks leveled to the ground. President Biden should watch some of these videos and ask himself if the crushed children being dragged out of the ruins of their family homes are a fabrication or an acceptable price of war. They are neither.

“United Voices calls on President Biden to apologize for his comments, condemn the Israeli government for deliberately targeting civilians, and demand a ceasefire before more innocent people die.”
